Oh where oh where has this little girl been?

Hi there.  I know, I know.  It's been a while since I've blogged.  I go good...then I slack off.  I go good again....and again I slack off.  Ugh. I know if must be frustrating to my 3 followers, two of which are family! So they for the most part know where I am.  LOL  I wasn't slack'in without a reason.  It was productive slack'in.  This time it was "trip to Arizona time".  We left on the 11th and got home on the 19th.  Made for a quick month, that's for sure.  The first part getting ready to go and the last part catching up for being gone.  It was Mayo clinic time and we thought we'd combine it with the Western Pyrotechnic Association's Winter Blast convention. (Let me interject here, that the Mayo visit was a good one, and I continue to be free and clear of any cancer)  The Winter Blast was February 11-16th over Presidents weekend in Lake Havasu City.  What may you ask does one do at a pyrotechnic convention?  Well blow things up (fireworks) of course! LOL.  We had four nights of display shows put on by various companies, including us, Homeland Fireworks, American Fireworks and Pyro Spectaculars Display company.  It was a fun time and lots of work too.  Each of those 4 nights (one display night of setup) we had our wall of fire (gas mines) and a rainbow effect with "Ghost mines".  Very pretty and the crowd just loves them.  We also got to eat In-n-Out Burger a few times...hehe.  Best single cheeseburger w/grilled onions anywhere!

Anyway...you can tell we had a good time and it was good to get away.  I don't think I will try and do fun things before Mayo next time, just get the appointment done so we can relax and then go have fun.  It was kind of stressful having the appointments looming in the next week.  Even with the most positive attitudes!  Like I said, my appointment was great.  The news was great.  My doctor, Helen Ross, says I look simple marvelous (my words of course-hehe) and my blood work is "excellent"!  We don't have to go again now until sometime September-ish she says.  So I think we will combine it with a trip to Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon.  We've never been so that would be a wondrous treat!

Happy Birthday Garret & Easton!

Two grandsons.  Two birthdays.  One - Garret or Gman as we call him, is 12 today.  The other Easton or "E" is 5.   We are not getting to celebrate today with them.  We are out of town.  But...we left presents for both and will celebrate big time when we get home.  I'm sure it will include food and that will make them both happy.  I hope they are getting to spend their day the way the want and are having lots of fun.  I love you both very much with all my heart and soul.  Hope you like your presents...hehe. 

 

 

Brynee's Champion Cheer Competition!

On Saturday we went to Bryn's Cheer competition in the Pavilion Building at the State Fair grounds.  She and her friend Marley are in the (mini 1) Champion Cheer group where they perform stunts and cheer moves.  Brynlee Rose is a natural.  She is very graceful in her moves and shows her strength at age 7 in her stunts.  It's amazing to see these little girls perform and she is having so much fun!  They didn't place this time in the competition, but she wasn't fazed a bit.  For Bryn and Marley it is all about the fun and the friends. 

 

February Family Visits

Can't believe I haven't blogged this sooner, only excuse I guess has been the crazy busy-ness of it all.  January 29th, Dad and Laura came for a visit.  Bryant and I ran up to Oregon City and picked them up from Wendy's house.  Wendy and the girls had gone to the Airport for the pickup.  Violet and Abby loved going into the airport for the meet and greet!  Wendy was so sweet and made us a wonderful dinner that night.  We got to see her new commercial kitchen and enjoyed our visit. Friday, we drove up to Chahalis, WA to visit Uncle Eddie, Aunt Shirley, Aunt Sheenie and cousin Brenda.  We looked over some pictures Dad brought to share and went out to lunch at the Casino. It was a wonderful time and we are hoping to get a reunion of families in the works.  It's is time, for sure to get together with the whole Wharton clan.  Saturday was busy mostly with the kids, Bryn was sick...the start of what turned out to be 10 days of a fever and the rest of the family getting sick.  We had a gathering of families at Heathers that evening and Dad got to visit with four of his granddaughter's,had plenty of good food and the cousins got some great play time in.  Sunday was busy with visiting Mom's graveside for some needed maintenance and visitation.  Got home in time for the Super Bowl over at Randa and Kyles.  More family, friends and food.  Made for a wonderful visit with all.  We loved having Dad and Laura here.  Never a moment when we didn't wish to be around each other more often.  I miss Dad so much living here in Salem.  I miss the daily visits or walking around the corner to his house for a quick hug and hello.  Thank you for the visit, thank you for the hugs and the laughter.  Family is such a blessing.  I am so blessed to be part of this one.

"SOUPER" Bowl Sunday! XLIIXX???? How many years is that?

How are you spending your SuperBowl Sunday?  Are you watching the big game? Are you spending the time with friends or family, or both?  We are going to Randa & Kyle's.  Dragging Laura and Dad with us.  I love the SuperBowl, the game, the commercials, the screaming when your team wins!  I normally watch only college football, but once the playoffs come around it's time to get into who you want to see go to the bowl.  Go Cardinals today!!  I'm bringing a big Taco Soup...for souper bowl...hehe.  You can tell it's superbowl worthy because I flipped for the extra $ and I'm bringing sour cream for a topper.  LOL.  Enjoy the game where ever you are.  It's a time to kick back, relax and play and let go of our everyday stress's, at least for 4 hours w/commercials.  Enjoy!
