This past Monday I started working four, ten-hour days a week. The College believes it is going to save a ton of money by having their employees and students have Fridays off. This way, they can close lots of the buildings saving energy costs by not having the power on. I thought this would be great as Fridays off sound intriguing. An extra day at home I can get things done, work on projects ..you know..three day weekends. Well there is a down side. Who knew? haha Now I'm sure it will get better, but after this first week I had a couple of problems. The first being out of four days, I was late two. Only by 10 minutes or less, but still late. Ugh! Got to adjust that time factor of getting out of the house or getting up or moving quicker...LOL. Pick all three, maybe. wink wink. The second is, just how long that 10 hour day is and how different it becomes when it is expected of you. I normally work from 7:30 to 4:30, but most weeks stay each day until after 5:00pm. So I already work long hours by choice. Now when I am expected to stay, the day drags by...so so long. whaa, whaa whaa.... haha. It's an extra half-hour...please! I think I can do that. I am sure it will get better...first weeks are always weird. I did enjoy my friday off...didn't do much, but that was the point right? I will let you know what the verdict is after Labor Day.
Hi Robin- I found your blog off Bree's...I think she told you that I had found her, anyways, in case she didn't, it's been awhile, but I used to wait on you and your hubby at Schroeder's! Anyways, just wanted to say Hi and see how you are doing! And are you guys still doing fireworks? I still remember the cute little think you made for us at our wedding! Wow that was 7 1/2 years ago!
